What this is, and what we log
The deal, in plain words
- Share a slice of your internet; get access everywhere in the society. Free.
- Guests on your Wi-Fi cannot reach your own devices — TV, laptop, cameras are locked away, and we refuse to enable sharing without that protection.
- Everyone's traffic goes through the club's server. That means anything a guest does is tied to their own account, not to you or your home connection. This is what makes it safe to say yes.
- You can stop sharing any time. If you stop but keep using, you get a slow trickle until you resume — that's the whole rulebook.
- If you sponsor a guest, you're responsible for them.
- Rules: nothing illegal, no attacking or scanning the network or other devices, no reselling access, no sharing your account. Breaking these gets your access revoked.
- This is a community project run by neighbours. No guarantee of service.
What we log — and what we never log
We log: when your account connects, how much data you used, and the connection's technical details (addresses and ports). Indian law (CERT-In) requires keeping this for 180 days, on servers in India. After that it's deleted automatically.
We never log: the sites you visit, your searches, your DNS queries, or anything about what you do online. We can't see inside your encrypted traffic and we will never try.
Who can see it: logs exist for legal compliance and fairness only. Admin access to session data is itself logged. Day-to-day operations use totals and tiers, not per-session detail.
Disclosure: log data goes to authorities only on a valid legal demand — and because every session is tied to an account, it maps to the account that generated the traffic, never to the neighbour whose router carried it.
Your data, your rights
- We store: your name, phone, flat, usage totals, and the connection logs above. Nothing else.
- Delete your account any time from the home page — your identity is removed immediately; legally-required logs age out on schedule.
- Questions or complaints: contact Jayaganesh, Flat D1308, or message on the MyGate app.
